      Hi Cheeseman207,

This might seem like a cop out but it really depends what you do. Doing the job I do is mostly based in an office environment so its no more dangerous than being at school! There may be times when an engineer would be required to support front line troops in places like Afghanistan but usually this very rarely.

If you worked as a member of the armed forces then yes it is more dangerous but again it depends what you do. If you want to be an aircraft mechanic for the RAF then I would say that it is no more dangerous than a mechanic working on an Easy Jet plane at Heathrow, but depending if your are war or conflict then the risks are increased, but you would be made well aware of them and the MOD do all they can to protect their employees. It would then be up to people like me to ensure that we minimise the risk to aircraft mechanics!

Good luck, by the way, if you follow a career as an aircraft mechanic.
