      Hi, I would say definitely so. My work experience gave me chance to put theory into practice, so I became better at my degree.

      Lots of companies offer work experience as well, so it’s a good way to try out a job and see if it’s what you would enjoy.

      Although they are not essential, they will definitely put you at an advantage!

      I think that university can teach you the technical side of things, but you really need to experience the work environment to find out what working as a professional engineer is REALLY like :D.
