• Question: Your job must be extremely interesting. However also pressurizing as if you are analyzing safety risks for Military aircraft then you need to make sure our troops are ensured to be safe at all costs. Do you feel this pressure Mentally and Physically?

      Hi Adam,

There is pressure in the job, but the systems is such that not any particular decision is only down to me, we have independent checkers, people reviewing work and coming to a joint decision about the work I have carried out, so it rarely comes down to just my opinion making the difference between life and death.

Luckily the system is also reviewed to try to ensure that there is enough expertise, experience and independence meaning that one person cannot be held accountable expect for the guy who has the authority to make the decisions, (usually a high ranking military officer) so much of the work is convincing them that the work you did was ‘on the money!’
