• Question: What is your favourite element or compound and why?

      I have a joke about noble gasses:
      Argon walks into a bar, and the barman says “We don’t serve noble gasses in hear”. Argon doesn’t react.

      However I think my favourite element is Oxygen, I find it really supportive of my life 😉

      Hi Harukaoki!

      My favourite is Carbon! It’s so versatile! In various different forms (allotropes) it is:

      -Diamond (the hardest known material)
      -Graphene (the thinnest material at one atom thick!)
      -Carbon nanotubes (strongest and stiffest material discovered)

      And of course, adding it to iron gives you steel – which is used extensively in engineering! It’s so great in so many different ways 😀
